Basic Web Internship
A company training program, and my first time on tasks that looked like production work. I built a thin screen and a basic REST API in plain JavaScript, with a little React, Node.js, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.
Context
This was a training program at Itransition, not a product built with a team. The work was small and barely styled: a simple page in pure JavaScript, then the same idea with the basics of React, talking to a basic REST API. It was not solid software. It was the first time I saw what a production-like task asks for and what has to be finished.
What I learned
The useful part was the path between the browser and the server. I learned how a client sends a request, how a REST route answers, and how to read that exchange in Postman until the response made sense. Node.js held the small server logic. MongoDB and PostgreSQL were the two databases I touched. The interface stayed plain, with very little styling.
